American Style Options are options that can be exercised at anytime before expiration.

As European Style Options can only be exercised during expiration day itself, American Style Options always command a higher price due to its added flexibility. All publicly traded equities options traded in the US market are American Style Options. In fact, most publicly traded options around the world are American Style Options. The name has nothing to do with the market it is traded in.
